Gray made the hospital his home about 6 years ago after deciding that being an outdoor cat was not as exciting as his friends had told him it would be. Since then, he has become quite the ladies man and made himself incredibly useful as resident bug catcher, paperweight, back scratcher and file snatcher. He can usually be found napping in a quiet place, striking a pose on the desk, or tapping the staff with his mittens - just to remind them he is always up for some attention...and treats.
Although she doesn't look a day over 5, Mama has been a resident of the hospital for 14 years. After gracing the hospital with a litter of adorable kittens, she was hired as a full time foster mother and kitten rearing expert. She has since retired from that role and is now enjoying long naps, impersonating Billy Idol, teasing hospital patients, stealing warm chairs and kneading anything her little paws can touch.
Lyn has been a part of East Longmeadow Animal Hospital since 1981. She is currently the office manager and nurturing problem solver of the group. She keeps everyone organized and on their toes! With her three sons grown, she lives in South Hadley with her husband Bill, Springer Spaniel Mia and two awesome kitties. She loves her granddaughters Kinsley, Autumn and her grandson Caleb and she shows them off often! Lyn's interests include hiking with her dog, and traveling.
Lisa has been with us since 2007 and previously worked at Angell Animal Medical Center WNE. As one of our receptionists, her bright smile and welcoming way are a comfort to all who visit. Whether it is an animal or human with a problem, Lisa is always there to help out! Lisa graduated from UMass Amherst with a BS in Animal Science. She lives in East Longmeadow with her husband Jarrad and daughter Caitlyn, as well as three dogs, two cats, two horses, bunnies and a slew of chickens. When Lisa is at home, she loves to spend time with her daughter and her horses.
Years ago Janice was one of our full time receptionists. Three kids and lots of busy family time later, she finally agreed to come back! This was very exciting for us as Janice was always one to get problems solved and questions answered with a smile! She has a BA in English with a minor in Business from Western New England College. Over the years, Janice has fostered litters of puppies. She has two adorable dogs, and a cat to round out her family. She resides in East Longmeadow with her husband John and children.
The best possible benefit of Carol's 35 years at ELAH is her husband Jim. She was the technician, he was the client and the rest is history! Carol's job here is multi-faceted. Among her responsibilities are purchasing drugs and inventory items needed to provide high quality care for our patients. She is also Dr. Dgetluck's assistant most days. Carol is especially kind and compassionate and continues to be a joy to all of us! Carol lives in East Longmeadow with her family, as well as her dog, cat, chickens, turtles, mice and any other critters that need a place to live. Carol enjoys hiking and horseback riding.
We welcomed Ashley to our family in February. From the very start we knew she would fit in with our crew. When she's not running around assisting the Docs or techs at ELAH, you can find her at home wrangling and showing her prize winning cows, playing softball, or working to keep her running title of champion arm wrestler. She attended Holyoke Community College, where she studied nursing. Luckily for us, she decided she preferred working with animals. She currently resides in Huntington, where she lives in country bliss with her family and four legged friends. Her sparkling smile and ability to recite random song lyrics make her a wonderful addition to the hospital….just don’t ask her to arm wrestle.
Legend has it that Carol has been around our hospital since she was 12 years old. She would stop in with the hope of working here when she grew up. Well, this wish came true! Some thirty odd years later Carol is an integral part of the ELAH family. Her genuine love for animals is just one of the reasons we love her. Carol graduated from Holliston Junior College with a veterinary technician degree. She resides in Ellington with her husband Milan as well as her four dogs, cat, multiple rabbits, and chickens. Carol has two grown children, Milan and Taylor and a new Grandaughter Adaline. In her spare time, her favorite thing to do is hike with her dogs!
Judi joined us in 2006 and has been a great addition to our ELAH family! She is one of our talented vet assistants and is the go-to woman for all of our grooming needs. Judi is never afraid of fostering tough to place pitties and is an overall animal advocate. Judi resides in Chicopee with her three cats, two dogs, and horse. In her spare time, when she's not helping out a stray cat, she can be found either horseback riding or out for a walk with her dogs
Shauna retuned to ELAH in 2016 and is now the glue that holds our office staff's sanity together. Shauna has worked in the veterinary field for twelve years as both a receptionist and a veterinary assistant. She is very passionate about what she does and loves working with animals of all sizes. Shauna has always had a special interest in fostering baby kittens, especially loving the bottle babies to snuggle and dote on. Six plus years ago, while manning the front desk at ELAH her love for animals in need brought her together with her husband, Scott. They have two beautiful children, Coraline and Ashton. They are also the proud parents of 2 dogs, Milo and Homer, and 2 cats, Napoleon and Eva. In her spare time she enjoys—well someday she may have spare time.
There's a good chance you'll hear Sam's laughter before you even see her when you come to East Longmeadow Animal Hospital. Samantha was welcomed aboard in July 2016 and can be seen fluttering around helping everyone and assisting the doctors in their appointments, or manning the front desk. Sam graduated from Monson High School and decided to pursue a degree in Psychology at Westfield State, before realizing that her true path through life involved caring for animals. She is owned by her four rats- Fetty, Rhonda, Delilah, and Petuni, and loves to share pictures and stories of them. Sam enjoys cooking, will eat anything she can get her hands on, and has a new found interest in kickboxing.
Angie was welcomed into the ELAH crew in April of 2016 after receiving a Veterinary Assistant Certificate at Asnuntuck Community College. Angie has lived in Springfield for most of her life and is bilingual. She and her husband, Jorge, have two children, Jocelyne and Xavier, and a four legged baby, a dog named Coby. Angie enjoys spending her time doing arts and crafts with the children, has a love of photography, and traveling the world. When she's not busy with family or Coby, she volunteers at a local animal shelter. Along with lending a hand to our technicians and keeping the hospital in order, Angie is always there to tuck the animals in for the night and give them their daily snuggles.
Jenny is one of the most recent additions to the ELAH family, joining the team in September of 2016 as a receptionists. She studied biochemistry at UMASS Amherst and Boston, and lived in Boston with her husband for a few years. With the arrival of her daughter, Leila, Jenny and family moved back to her hometown of East Longmeadow in April. Jenny has a borderline obsession with Golden Retrievers, is a huge Boston sports fan, and a lover of fine wine and food. We are thrilled to have Jenny added to our family here, not just for her energetic smile, but also for her ability to reach things in high places to compensate for some of our shorter staff members.
